Sam and I are now safely ensconced in Dublin. I spent the afternoon with the Armstrong-Zwicky family and a slough of Dubliners while we all endured the rainy summertime at a moving-out party for a friend. Dublin's weather proves to be annoyingly consistent. Sam is now out prowling the streets and I'm a few chapters into the next book I'm tackling.
On our last day in Munich we set off into the Residenz Museum on a search for a reliquary of Peter's chains that I had suspected might be part of a set of treasures that came there in 1803 when many other treasures from the Bamberg cathedral did (when the church secularized). I found a reference to Peter's relics amongst these items in an online article that I can't fully fetch at the moment. So sadly, we didn't find a fourth instance of the chains in Germany, but three is pretty good headway.
